One thing that is a challenge is to get the students to pray their prayers daily. I tried giving them a weekly prayer sheet.
On the back is a place for their parents to sign that they did their prayers.
If the student brings back a signed prayer sheet they can earn 1 or 2 tokens (1 if they only did half the days, 2 for more) which they could use to
"purchase" prizes. Finding prizes the students were interested in was a bit challenging but I did end up with more students knowing their prayers at the end of the year
than in previous years. Here are the prayer sheets that I used. They are Word docs so they can be modified. If you need a PDF, let me know.
Un desafío es lograr que los estudiantes recen sus oraciones diariamente. El año pasado intenté darles una hoja de oración semanal. En el reverso hay un lugar para que sus padres firmen que hicieron sus oraciones. Si el estudiante trae una hoja de oración firmada, puede ganar 1 o 2 fichas (1 si solo rezó la mitad de los días, 2 si rezó más) que puede usar para "comprar" premios. Encontrar premios que interesaran a los estudiantes fue un poco complicado, pero terminé con más estudiantes que sabían sus oraciones al final del año que en años anteriores.
