MILITARY SERVICE: Served in Confederacy. 1 Elijah Pedigo HARDY was born on 16 Jan 1831 in Henry Co., Virginia.9 Age 19 on the 1850 census, and living in the household of Adam Stultz.

He served in the military between 1862 and 1865 in Civil War. He enlisted as a Private on March 4, 1862 into Company A of the 52nd Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Army of Tennessee, CSA "For a period of three years."

In December of 1862, he was elected third lieutenant and may have been transferred to Company A of the 32nd Infantry as he is shown as serving in that unit also. He was captured at Baker's Creek, Mississippi on May 16, 1863. No explanation of how or when he returned to service.

He served until May 18, 1864 when he was captured at Adairville, Georgia during the fighting before Atlanta. He was exchanged on March, 1865.

He died on 1 Mar 1903 in Carter Co., Oklahoma. 31
