" The Seurer farm was purchased by Michael Rothman from the United States on February 3, 1848, at the cost of $80.80 ($1.25 per acre) for 64 64/100 acres. Carl Seurer purchased the farm from Michael Rothman, August 19, 1854, for $235.00. Since that time, five generations of the Seurers have lived on this farm: Carl and Margaretha Seurer, Henry and Theresa Seurer, Erwin and Rosalia Seurer, Stella and Roger Kapellen, and the Kapellen sons." 35
The location of the farm as described on the original receipt: West 1/2 of the North West quarter of section number 19 in Township number 17 North of range number 20 East. This is in Calumet Township Northwest of the Manitowoc River.
The address of the farm today is N 1142 Dorn Road, Chilton, Wisconsin 53014. 35
