NOTES: |
He had brown eyes, auburn hair and a nice smile. He left home at age 13. He told stories about being a hobo and eating meat so old it was green. Although his death certificate says he was born in Chicago, Illinois, no record of his birth was found there. John Peter would sit on a tree stump in the back yard and feed the squirrels. They would eat right out of his hand. He was a good card player. They would play Sheep's Head often. He didn't believe in "letting" someone win but thought each person should play their best. He also liked to watch wrestling on TV. |
