White crysanthemums composed her arm bouquet. Miss Genevieve Dlugolenski was the bridesmaid and wore dubonnet velvet with a hat to correspond. Bronze chrysanthemums made up her bouquet. Jacob A. Kaufmann was the best man.
After a wedding breakfast and a reception at the home of the bride's father, the couple left on a wedding trip through the southern part of Wisconsin and to Chicago. On their return they will reside at 289 Grant street.

Miss Dorothy Kargus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kargus, became the bride of John W. Hansan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Hansan, all of this city, in a ceremony in the parsonage of St. Peter's Catholic church Saturday at 4 o'clock, the Rev. F. M. McKeough officiating.

The gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice, and a silk marquisette yoke accented with tiny pearl seeds. A long flowing train completed the gown. The bridal bouquet was of red roses.
Miss Carol Hansan, sister of the bridegroom, was the maid of honor and the bride's only attendant. 1996 LYNN LUMPKIN

Trip to Dacada, Wisconsin

On Saturday, June 29, 1996, I found Dacada, Wisconsin about a mile east of Hwy 57 on County road K . It was south of the intersection of 144 and Hwy 57. County road K seems to be the border of two counties; Sheboygan County on the north side and Ozaukee County is on the south side of the road. It is not a suburb of Random Lake, but a small town containing the church, cemetery and a few houses. Numerous dairy farms surrounding the unincorporated town. It doesn't look like it has changed much since our grandparents lived there.

St. Nicholas church is on the north side of County Road K . It is next to the Luxembourg Heritage museum. The church has lots of beautiful stain glass windows and 22 pews lining a long center isle. The round dome above the alter was painted in a beautiful blue, like the sky. Behind the altar hung a velvet drapery in the same shade of blue. A cross hung in front of the drapery.

The cemetery was across County Road K from the church and slightly to the west. A white house was directly across from the church and a blue house was next to it and slightly to the east.

The cemetery has one road that makes a horse shoe around the graves with an entrance and an exit onto County Road K . Most of the graves are in the center of the horse shoe, but some are located on the side by the white house.

The third headstone on the right when you enter the cemetery using the entrance closest to the white house, is that of August and Susan HANSEN. The headstone mentions that August Hansen fought with the 5th Ill. Cav. during the Civil War. The memorial flag next to the headstone gives the dates of that war, 1861-1865. The headstone reads:

August 1827-1905
Susan 1842-1921
Hansen
I was surprised at the spelling of the last name with an e .

The second headstone on the right is also of the Hansen family. It reads:

Hansen
John 1876-1955
Susan 1888-1987
On the back of this headstone it reads:
Daughter Son
Catherine William
1914-1931 1926-1949
Another Hansen was found on the 1st row, the 5th headstone going west. It read:
Hansen
Joyce S, Joseph J.
1929- 1921-
On the back of the headstone, it read:
William J.
1952-1972
In the center most area of the graveyard there are some of the oldest headstones. Three of these are next to each other and have the name Hansen on them. Again the spelling has an e not an a . Lori found these when a big black bird landed on Eva's headstone. It was very worn and hard to read. We may have missed them if not for the bird! The first one read on the east side of the stone:
Hansen
Eva
GEB.11.
Nov. 1818
GEST.26.
Nov. 1883
We decided that GEB meant born and GEST meant died because it was on a lot of the older stones. Depiesse was also on many of the stones. We think that might mean "rest in peace".

The north side of the headstone read:

Hutter Von
Fraumfelukamp
The second headstone which was also very old and hard to read, read:
Anna M.
Deborn ?
Hansen
1845
GEST. 8
Juni 1871
We could not read what came after Deborn but we have a trace of headstone using a crayon.

The third headstone I'm not sure if it is a Hansen now. I though it was when I wrote this down, but now I'm not sure where the Hansen was written. It reads on the east side reads:

Peter
GEB 16
August 1831
GEST 5
June 1913
Weber
The south side of the headstone reads:
Maria
GEB.26.
Juni 1851
GEST.19.
Oct. 1925

I found a couple of Feltes: The oldest one is:

Katherina Feltes
Marz 1807
1877
Another one read:
Emma Feltes
A. & S. Hansen
Died
Sept. 14, 1879
Aged 2 yrs
Another one reads on the east side:
Margaret Nee Kultgen
May 24, 1887
Oct 7, 1958

Paul
May 28, 1866
May 16, 1949
On the north side of the same stone:
Edward J.
Apr. 20, 1909
Aug. 11, 1979
On the west side of the same stone:
John
9. Feb. 1830 -10. Dec.1919
Gattin Maria
2. Feb 1835 - 30. Apr. 1916
Feltes
There was another headstone for the Kultgen family. On the west side it read:
Kultgen
Marcella Jan 17, 1917
          Aug. 9, 1988

Anna Nee Rock Oct. 10, 1884
          Apr. 21, 1954

Joseph Oct. 13, 1885
     Apr. 21, 1954
On the back of the same stone, the east side, it read:
Joseph A.
1957 - 1959

Viola
1923 - 1985

Joseph
1921 - (no date)
I found lots of Rassell's and one fairly new Weiland. The lady at the church said that there were no Feltes, Hansen's or Rassell's left in the area today but the Weiland's own one of the largest farms in the area.
