BORN: May 21, 1842 in Betzdorff/Mensdorf (Menster), Luxembourg. 02 06 08 09 15 or January 1840 14 or November 8, 1841. 05 Susan's obituary and death certificate say that she was born May 21, 1842. The 1900 Census says she was born in Jan. 1840. Family tradition says that she was the twin sister of John Feltes, who was born November 8, 1841. The Luxembourg records list Jean (Johann) and Marguerith (Margretha) born on November 8, 1841, however, there is a Margaret Feltes with an 1841 birthdate who married Peter Schecher. The Betzdorff, Luxembourg birth records do not have any Feltes children born in 1842. The 1840 records list Maria Catharinna Feltes born 13 Jan. 1840 of Peter Feltes and Catharinna Wenner, matching the 1900 Census date. In conclusion, I do not know when Susan was born, other than it was between 1840 and 1842 and her parents were most likely Peter Feltes and Catharina Wenner. DNA matches indicate that they were her parents. DIED: June 18, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois of organic heart failure due to chronic nephritis. 06 08 09 BURIED: St. Nicholas Cemetery, Dacada, Wisconsin. 00 02 06 07 08 09 PARENTS: Catherine Wiener and John Feltes 08 09 14 Census records and her obituary indicate they were from Luxembourg RELIGION: belonged to St. Nicholas Catholic Church. 00 02 07 MARRIAGE: August Hansan (1827-1905) on August 30, 1858 in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Chicago by Rev. M. Liermann. Witnesses were Luther and Maas. 00 08 09 10 14
